Chapter 3: Crossing the Storm Sea

Image

The map led Maya out of the caverns to the shores of the Storm Sea, where dark clouds gathered on the horizon. An old fisherman warned her that crossing would be dangerous, but Maya had come too far to turn back now.

She found a small but sturdy boat tied to the dock and set sail, with Scout curled up nervously at her feet. As predicted, a fierce storm arose, with waves as tall as houses crashing around them. Maya gripped the wheel tightly, using every ounce of her strength and skill.

Through determination and courage, she steered the boat through the tempest. As the storm cleared, a beautiful island appeared on the horizon, exactly where the map indicated the second trial awaited her.
